We believe our guides are the most important part of our company. All of our guides love what they do and are typically found on a river on their days off!
Kyle (Rowdy) Allred: Kyle is co-owner with Ryan and guide extraordinaire. He has guided trips on 5 different continents but prefers the rivers in the great State of Jefferson.
Ryan Allred: Ryan has also guided internationally and was a 5 time member of the USA rafting team. He currently teaches high school and coaches in the off-season. Ryan’s favorite river (of the over 200 he’s rafted) is Clear Creek, which is where he asked his wife, Rachel to marry him.
Rachel Allred: Rachel has 6 years of guiding experience and loves to hang out at Paradise point with Avery, Ryan and Rachel’s one year old daughter. Rachel also teaches high school half-time and runs a photography business. Rachel loves Dragon’s Tooth.
Russ Miller: Russ is a river fanatic and brings a lot of enthusiasm to every trip. If he is not rafting, he’s fishing. When he’s not fishing, he is a stellar high school teacher. Russ’ wife Wendie and daughter Rowen also help out!
Joe Jackson: Joe (aka sheepshank) has guided for over 8 years and we hope he comes back for more. He has officially transplanted himself away from the ocean and now writes for Paddler magazine.
Mike Orloff: Mike has guided for AWW for three years. With his stunning good looks, oversized muscles and fast growing facial hair some rafters have likened him to Paul Bunyon.
Marissa Gillingham: Marissa (Ris) is always up for a good time on the river. She has been a great guide for over 4 years.
Zach “Red” Williams: Red is a solid American and proud resident of the State of Jefferson. His flaggies and eagle sightings are legendary.
Weenid Guides: These guides might be alternatively called “the Yreka boys” or “really awesome.” Their young blood has bolstered AWW’s morale, along with deathspinning, trust-walking and triple-crown jumping rates. The Weenids are: Ryan (Easy) Pyles, Paul Gillingham, Ross Perry, Evan Aker & One-up Willy.
Celebrity Guides: Consider yourself lucky if one of these guides makes a cameo appearance on one of your trips: Davy Grantland, Paul Caswell, Todd Clevenger, John Tribble, Rael Hirning, Kacey Zundel, Brett Zundel, Katy Lafferty, Saylor Flett, Stu Bieglar, Scott Eastman & Sasquatch.
